Band tees/jumpers have always been a thing, but why not movies?
Promo merch was popular in the 80s 90s but seemed to have phased out by the 2000s.
Now there are various reasons why music merch is much more popular and has thus been able to survive, and still thrive, to this day. But my problem is not why merch for movies is not as popular as it is for music...
My problem is how dead and buried movie merch seems to be when comparing it to music merch. It's really not rocket science either. Just look at the cap above, it's as simple as:
TITLE+ACTOR A+ACTOR B=HARD AF cap
or you could do
TITLE+WRITTEN/DIRECTED BY=HARD AF cap
I WANT YOU

or you could do

I am willing to concede music merch will always be more popular. However our merch shouldn’t seem so non-existent in comparison to the music industry's.
Such as the cast of Goonies repping their movie and director Luc Besson in his title movie’s tee for Leon The Professional...
